Tyler Ryan Lee Jordan Brooks (born August 31, 2000), known professionally as skaiwater (previously known as Young Skai), is a recording artist, producer, DJ, and engineer from Nottingham, United Kingdom.

skai got into music through their father, when they were taught how to use FL Studio at the age of eight. They would then start to posting music in 2018, through their SoundCloud page. They released their debut EP, Black on September 21. That same year, they also collaborated with the then up-and-coming rapper Lil Nas X, on the track “No Love”.

Throughout the span of 2019 and 2020, skai had released a slew of EP’s and singles, but started to gain some media attention from the track “Blakehomie”. skai would continue to find some success in 2021, when they were featured on the track “Black Hole Sun,, featuring Jonah Zed and Patrick Cc:. That same year, skai had released their debut mixtape, Happy Hour, a short EP titled Mari, and another EP titled i dont miss her at all.

In 2022, skai started to gain more attention through the platform TikTok, where two of their songs “#miles” and “eyes” started to blow up through the platform. “#miles” in particular, saw a spew of remixes release over the span of six months, a similar move to their friend’s song “Old Town Road”. Featured artists on these remixes include Bandmanrill, Riovaz, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Since their success, they signed with Geffen Records, released their major-label debut album rave, and went on the European portion of Lil Nas X’s Long Live Montero tour.

From there, skai would soon continue to pump out new music, to which they would earn further success such as “rain,” “clair” with midwxst, and “light!” with 9lives and long-time friend Lil Nas X. On June 14, 2024, skai released their sophomore studio album #gigi.
