Strictly Come Dancing competitor Tilly Ramsay has reportedly been issued a full apology after she was fat-shamed in comments made by Steve Allen on LBC radio.
The social media celebrity was targeted by LBC Radio presenter Steve, who remarked on air-that he was ‘bored’ of her performances and called her a ‘chubby little thing’.
Tilly, 19, who is the daughter of TV chef Gordon Ramsay, later took to Instagram where she said she would usually not ‘read and listen to comments and negativity’ but being ‘called out on a national radio station by a 67-year-old man is a step too far’.
Now it appears the controversial presenter has apologised to Tilly, with the Daily Star reporting that Steve sent her a private message with a ‘full apology’.
An industry insider allegedly told the outlet: ‘Tilly has been given a full apology by Steve. He wanted to make it clear that he is very sorry to have upset her.
‘It was sent privately because he didn’t want it to look like it was done for publicity.’
Tilly was flooded with support following the ‘nasty’ comments, including from her fellow Strictly stars including Janette Manrara, John Whaite, Giovanni Pernice and Nikita Kuzmin.
In her response to Steve’s comments, which was widely praised, Tilly told Steve to ‘feel free to voice your opinions however I draw the line at commenting on my appearance’.
‘It’s such a shame that someone is trying to make such a positive experience negative. This isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last comment made about my appearance and I accept that and I’m learning to accept myself.
‘But please remember that words can hurt and at the end of the day I am only 19,’ she added.

Despite the hurtful comments and public outcry that followed, Tilly has refused to be distracted from the task at hand, and last night stunned judges and the audience with her Strictly performance.
She and partner Nikita received a 36 from the judges for their impressive Foxtrot to One Direction’s 2012 hit Little Things.
