Denise Welch has revealed her bizarre fear of using the dishwasher in past relationships, in case it ended up leading to sex.
The Loose Women host, 63, had the rest of the panel howling as she described – and acted out – how she would awkwardly lean to the side to put dirty dishes in the machine, in case her bending over was too much for her partner at the time.
Discussing cuddling and intimacy and how sometimes it can lead to one partner wanting to take things further, Denise revealed: ‘Lincoln [Townley, her husband] and I, we are massive huggers – I mean it can work both ways as well, there’s sometimes that I may want it to go on…
‘But there’s been times in previous relationships when I was younger when I was even scared to put a plate in the dishwasher, do you know what I mean? Because that would always look like it was an indication for something else!’
The rest of the panel erupted into laughter at her admission, with Nadia exclaiming: ‘You were scared to put your plate in the dishwasher because of where it would lead to?!’
Denise tried to explain, telling them: ‘Well yeah, because you were sort of bending over.
‘So I’d sort of be doing it like that [leaning to the side] so I wasn’t doing it like that [bending over] as if it was some kind of invitation!’
Linda Robson was then seen wiping away tears as she struggled to contain her laughter at the surprising tale.
