Kristen Stewart sparkled like never before as she hit the red carpet for the New York premiere of David Cronenberg’s Crimes Of The Future.
The Spencer actress, 32, posed outside The Walter Reade Theatre, wearing a black sequin Chanel jumpsuit with a plunging neckline.
She looked effortlessly chic in the glitzy yet edgy ensemble, which she teamed with matching heels and a statement silver rose necklace.
The Twilight star swept her blonde locks back into a messy ponytail for ultimate rock chic vibes, also wearing light make-up but defining her dark brows.
Los Angeles native Kristen was joined on the carpet by Viggo Mortensen, Nadia Litz, Scott Speedman, and Léa Seydoux, who all smiled for a group shot with 79-year-old filmmaker David.
Kristen plays Timlin in the controversial new film, which has seen critics actually walk out of screenings because it’s just so gory.
An official synopsis for the flick reads: ‘As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. Accompanied by his partner, celebrity performance artist Saul Tenser showcases the metamorphosis of his organs.
‘Meanwhile, a mysterious group tries to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.’
In a nutshell, in a dystopian future, performance artist couple Saul and Caprice (Viggo and Léa) grow organs and operate on themselves in front of a live audience.
Kristen shows up as an investigator for the National Organ Registry who becomes obsessed with the couple in question.
However, the blood and guts isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, especially since it is said to include an autopsy of a child, leaving Cannes Film Festival attendees rather disturbed.
In an interview with Insider, Kristen addressed the walkout, saying: ‘Everyone loves to talk about how his movies are difficult to watch and it’s fun to talk about people walking out of Cannes screenings.
‘But every single gaping, weird bruise in his movies, it makes my mouth open. You wanna lean in toward it. And it never repulses me ever.’
She added: ‘The way I feel, it is through really visceral desire and that’s the only reason we’re alive. We’re pleasure sacks.’
Despite the fact that several critics physically could not stomach the graphic horror film, according to Variety, it did receive a seven-minute standing ovation at the festival.
Kristen also claimed to have had ‘no idea’ what the project was about before she took it on, admitting she simply told the director: ‘I have no idea what this movie is about, but I’m so curious and maybe we can just figure it out.’

‘We, the actors, spent every single day after work being like, “What the f**k are we doing?” But then I watched the movie last night and it was so crystal clear to me.
‘It so exposing, and it does feel like you’re hacking up organs when you’re making something, and if it doesn’t feel that way it’s not worth it,’ she added.
Crimes Of The Future is in cinemas now.
