Fresh talks are underway for Tyson Fury to fight Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed heavyweight title fight in December.
WBC champion Fury and IBF, WBA and WBO king Usyk were set to collide in April to crown the division’s first undisputed champion in 23 years only for the fight to spectacularly fall through.
Since then, plans have been discussed to stage a spectacular night of heavyweight boxing in Saudi Arabia in December with that fight taking centre stage on a card that would also include a long-awaited showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.
Joshua told Metro.co.uk last month he expects his fight with Wilder to go ahead with the ‘Bronze Bomber’ also confirming talks have taken place.
Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk also welcomed negotiations with Fury the only man to reject mounting speculation over four-man heavyweight festival, labelling the rumours ‘absolute BS’.
Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum however has now revealed he has spoken to Skills Challenge Entertainment over making the fight happen.
‘Yes, that is correct,’ Arum told Ringside Reporter when asked if talks were back underway for Fury to face Usyk.
‘I have talked to a representative of Skills Challenge, who put on these boxing events in Saudi Arabia.
‘We know these people, we worked for them in connection with the Jake Paul and Tommy Fury fight, so we know who the players are and we’ve had some very interesting talks with them.’
Frank Warren, Fury’s other co-promoter, remains determined to get ‘The Gypsy King’ out again this summer but has told Boxing News a meeting with former world champion Andy Ruiz Jr is off the table due to financial demands.

With Joe Joyce activating his rematch clause to take on Zhilei Zhang and Daniel Dubois in line to challenge for Usyk’s world titles, there are a lack of suitable opponents available.
‘I want to get him [Fury] out whatever happens and get back in the swing of things. It’s just a bloody shame we wasted so much time [on the Usyk fight],’ said Warren.
‘The problem we’ve got is the ones we wanted are all fighting. The Zhang fight, Joe Joyce, I wouldn’t have gone with Joe next, he’ll have to get a win first and obviously Daniel. We’ll have a look around and see what’s available.’
