Lily Allen proved just how far behind her party days are after recalling being carried out of the Glamour Women of the Year Awards while high on drugs 15 years ago.
The Smile singer, 38, gracefully accepted her theatre actor award at the glitzy London ceremony on Tuesday evening in light of her critically acclaimed performances in West End plays 2:22 A Ghost Story and The Pillowman.
In her speech, Lily told the star-studded audience – which included Laura Whitmore, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, America Ferrera and Halle Bailey – that she was relieved to not be worse for wear this time after being escorted out in 2008 when she was 24.
‘I was carried out of this very ceremony and into the back of a car like a baby in 2008,’ she told guests, including Metro.co.uk, stirring laughs.
In 2018, she opened up about that chaotic year and revealed she had taken drugs at the awards ceremony, hence the need for her to be carried into a car.
This year’s Glamour Women of the Year Awards were hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan, who was supported by her husband Bobby Kootstra in the audience.
Elsewhere, Halle Bailey was glowing in a stunning structured mini-dress as she arrived holding hands with her boyfriend DDG at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Tuesday.
The Little Mermaid star, 23, looked incredible in a Nicole + Felicia Couture monochrome velvet dress and stunning diamond jewellery as she posed next to her rapper partner, 26.
She and DDG sported matching wide beams, while they rocked an immaculate co-ordinated couple look with him in black to complement his girlfriend.
Singer and actress Halle’s dress featured a cut-across bodice and structured wide skirt with a full tiered white petticoat underneath the skirt.
On closer inspection, the underlayer was shaped to look like dozens of white roses in bloom, which was a gorgeous touch.
She paired it with simple black platform heels and dazzling Anabela Chan drop earrings and a matching necklace.
Meanwhile DDG, who has been dating the Colour Purple star for around two years, opted for a smart black suit with silk lapels, which he paired with chunky-soled black boots, a black polo-neck and an eye-catching oversized diamond cross necklace.
Halle was also a woman of the night as she picked up the Gen Z gamechanger award
The duo were joined at the event by celebrities including singer Jess Glynne, sports pundit Alex Scott, Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham and Little Mix and solo star Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
Leigh-Anne spoke to Glamour UK to coincide with the ceremony and opened up about going solo and launching her own music career.
She explained: ‘Of course, I miss them, Jade and Perrie are my sisters. There is something to be said about being in a group and just laughing all the time.
‘Doing it on your own can be quite a lonely thing. We always felt so lucky to have each other and go through it together. No matter what, you always felt supported because you had each other.
‘I’m able to express more of who I am now, but at the same time, I do still miss that sisterhood.’
Former Love Island star Georgia Harrison was awarded the activist accolade after her successful fight to get her ex Stephen Bear convicted of sharing their private sex tape.

During her acceptance speech, Georgia became emotional as she said: ‘It feels so magical to be standing here today accepting this award after what has been a tough journey for me over the past few years.’
She continued: ‘For those of you that aren’t aware of my story, I was a victim of image-based sexual abuse and voyeurism which resulted in over 10million people viewing sexually explicit content of me without my permission.
‘After seeking help from the authorities and waving my anonymity I went on to successfully convict my perpetrator and eventually use my experience to make an amendment to the image-based sexual abuse law, meaning future victims will find it far easier to also have a successful court case.’
