Activision has released the first teaser trailer for this year’s Call Of Duty, along with a mysterious website.
Ahead of a planned deep dive at the Xbox Games Showcase, Activision has rolled out the first tease for the next Call Of Duty.
As already rumoured, it seems the next Call Of Duty will be revealed prior to the showcase on June 9. There, Microsoft has teased a special follow-up presentation which they’re pretending is a secret but is clearly Call Of Duty orientated, as the same symbol appears in this new teaser video.
The video doesn’t explicitly reveal anything about what the next Call Of Duty will involve, but it does hint towards the tone. In the clip, a squad is shown venturing into a ‘federally closed area’ at night in the woods.
After they jump in a car and escape, we see the team has vandalised the Mount Rushmore sculpture, with each former US president’s face blindfolded with the words, ‘The truth lies’ and a Cerberus logo (which was previously datamined from Modern Warfare 3 and is the one used in the Xbox Games Showcase tease).
This slogan is connected to a teaser website which shows the clip playing on an old TV. You can currently flick through the channels but there’s only static outside the first channel – so further clips might be uploaded over the coming days.
The next Call Of Duty is being developed by Treyarch and is expected to be another Black Ops entry, especially judging by the espionage tone of this teaser. Treyarch last developed Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in 2020 with Raven Software.

Various rumours have suggested this year’s entry has open world elements akin to Far Cry, and will be set in the 1990s during the Gulf War. The old fashioned TV also seems to point towards that time period.
Microsoft is expected to announce that the game will come to Xbox Game Pass on day one, which might lead to some tier and price changes for the subscription service.
