Married At First Sight UK viewers were pleased that Eve Reid and Charlie Curtis decided to leave the process after a difficult start to their marriage.
Although the pair initially felt a spark on their wedding day, they experienced a tumultuous honeymoon filled with disagreements.
Upon returning to the UK, couples usually move in together at a London flat, but Eve decided to live separately from Charlie.
The newlyweds have regularly argued, and during the second dinner party, it became even more tense between them after Polly Sellman accused Charlie of being a bully.
Although Eve was critical of the timing, she ultimately thanked Polly for the confrontation – something an upset Charlie was not aware of.
The day after the incident, it was time for the couple to chat with the experts – Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling, and Charlene Douglas. During the conversation, it was exposed that Eve had put her ear against a door to listen in to Charlie’s private interview with production.
Mel, 52, tells Eve that they know she has lied about the situation. Their co-stars, who Charlie hadn’t spent much time with outside of filming, were shocked to discover that they were only getting one side of the story.
When it was time for their decision, both women wrote ‘Leave’ indicating that they wanted to end their marriage, which many have deemed the right decision.
‘I am SO glad Charlie refused to put with this and chose to leave, as no one deserves to be treated the way Eve treated her. I hope every single person who stuck up for Eve and believed her lies is watching this MORTIFIED right now,’ wrote Alexander.
Hannah OJ added: ‘I’m so glad that Charlie chose to leave. This is so unhealthy, and it’s like nobody there is really in her corner or seeing Eve’s madness for what it really is.’
‘Worst match I’ve ever seen on this show!’ remarked Jessica Jones.
Although, some viewers were also wishing that Paul, Mel, and Charlene had stepped in more to ‘grill’ Eve.
‘Was expecting the experts to grill Eve a lot more about her lying tbh,’ wrote Jonny Dodds.
Viewer Lori also accused the trio of knowing more than they let on. ‘Experts need to stop this nonsense pretending they don’t see any footage and start outing people like Eve to the group,’ she wrote on X.
After spotting the post, Paul, 49, responded to clarify that this isn’t the case.
‘For the record, we don’t see any footage,’ he stated.
‘This is what makes it so challenging for us. We only see what happens at the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies. Everything else we see for the first time with you when the show airs.’
While Paul didn’t disclose his exact thoughts on the situation, plenty of MAFS fans also took to social media after Eve and Charlie’s final dinner party.
‘Here me out, am I the only one who can see Eve changes as soon as there is a dinner coming up and also tells Charlie all she wants to hear infront of the experts? Then wonders why Charlie gets so wound up when it’s back to them and Eve wants nothing to do with her?’ wrote Hannah Browne.
Laura Timmins questioned if there should be some production involvement.
‘It’s absolutely horrible to watch Charlie be so manipulated and broken down, then love-bombed all over again,’ their post on X read.
Eve was also criticised for choosing to stay in the experiment, but then refusing to take part in the tasks designed to strengthen their marriage.

‘Eve is so manipulative, it’s always Charlie’s fault, she will not take responsibility for anything that’s happened and thinks it’s acceptable to choose “stay” and then refuse to participate,’ noted Charlotte.
Liv summarised: ‘So scary that Eve, who has been treating Charlie awfully every day since their marriage, has somewhat been twisting the narrative. Thank god it’s been filmed for Charlie’s sake.’
