EastEnders star Shiv Jalota has fuelled reports his character’s on-screen father Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) will meet a fiery end in dramatic scenes.
It was recently confirmed Navin will be leaving his role as evil Nish after two years on Albert Square.
This news also coincided with rumours there is set to be a huge fire storyline, in which many have speculated will see Nish die.
Speaking to The Mirror, Shiv – who plays Vinny Panesar – has now confirmed an inferno is set to rip through Walford, but suggested there are still many twists planned.
He said: ‘There is gonna be a lot of fire. I can’t say too much. There’s gonna be [twists and turns ahead].
‘Nish Panesar is such a massive villain, and Navin Chowdhry plays him so well. Anything can happen at the moment. The soap is so good right now that it’s all unpredictable.’
He continued: ‘Vinny is all for his mum and he wants Suki and Eve to be happy and together. He sees that now. He wants his dad gone he doesn’t wanna be involved with him anymore. He lost his inheritance but for him it’s all about Suki and Eve being together and happy.’
Shiv also recently told Metro that the cast are savouring working with Navin before his upcoming exit.
He said: ‘We know there’s an endgame for Nish and we’re working towards that so we’re treasuring every moment that we have.

‘It’s a lot of fun and can be intense. Navin’s not like his character at all, he’s lovely. It’s such a beautiful dynamic I’d say.’
EastEnders fans recently saw Nish take revenge on Vinny and ex-wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) for plotting to take all of his assets, after it was revealed he had a terminal lung condition earlier this year.
Terrifying scenes saw Nish kidnap Vinny and lunge at him with a knife before he was rescued by brother Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), before Nish then changed his will to leave his fortune to grandchildren Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
