A grade-I listed abbey and a £45 million townhouse overlooking Buckingham Palace are among the UK’s most-viewed properties on Rightmove for 2024.
The stunning homes – which include former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s mansion – are dotted across the nation from London to Glasgow, with a combined worth of more than £70 million.
Lavish features such as marble floors and a pink cinema room that would make Barbie blush captured the imagination of house-hunters, who face an increasingly difficult property market.
Getting on the housing ladder is a tough slog for many, with the average UK home now selling for £267,200, according to latest figures from Zoopla. But it costs nothing to dream…
Jurgen Klopp’s former £4,250,000 Merseyside mansion
After the legendary Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp hung up his boots (or manager’s jacket) after nine years in charge, he placed his Merseyside mansion on the market.
Found in what Rightmove describes as the ‘prestigious enclave’ of Victoria Road in Freshfield, this £4,250,000 mansion has six bedrooms, a swimming pool complex and even its own (completely pink) cinema room.
There’s also a separate entertainment building complete with a spa, gym, changing facilities and a steam room – fitting for a football manager.
In January 2025, Klopp is set to start his new role as the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull, where he’ll oversee the brand’s international network of clubs including Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and Leipzig.
A £45,000,000 home with views of Buckingham Palace
It’s not just celebrity homes that have had attention, either. This £45,000,000 home with views of Buckingham Palace is almost palatial, found on Britain’s ‘most expensive street’ with a whopping nine bedrooms.
Here, the average asking price is £9,600,000 – and this one is even Grade II listed.
There’s ample space too, as it’s set across more than 15,000 square foot, complete with a view towards one of the most famous royal residencies in the world from every single room.
A £2,500,000 Georgian townhouse in Glasgow
Dating back to the 1870s, one £2,500,000 Georgian townhouse up in Glasgow was described by Rightmove as a ‘treasure trove of architectural splendour.’
What’s more, it ‘seamlessly marries original features with contemporary touches’ – as seen through its original embellished ceilings paired with brand-new green kitchen units.
‘Whether envisioned as a magnificent private residence, luxury apartments, or an exclusive events venue, this versatile property promises endless possibilities,’ the listing reads.
It’s also a relatively rare opportunity to purchase a ‘precious piece’ of architectural history, having previously been used as the Italian consulate – hence its nickname of ‘La Casa.’
An 8-bedroom home in Accrington for just £750,000
Not every highly viewed property of the last year is in the millions, though, as up in Accrington, one 8-bedroom home hit the market for just £750,000.
‘Behind this impressive façade lies an interior that stops visitors in their tracks. Spread across four generous floors, this Accrington gem boasts eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms, each executed with impeccable attention to detail,’ the Rightmove listing reads.
‘The showstopping marble flooring sets the tone for a home filled with luxurious surprises, while the spectacular open-plan kitchen forms the heart of this entertainment-ready family residence.’
It’s within reach of major commuter links too, being within reaching distance of Manchester, Blackburn, and Liverpool.
A Grade I-listed Abbey for £15,000,000 in Wytham, Oxfordshire
Evidently, property hopefuls were preoccupied with grade-listed properties in 2024 – as further proven by one Grade I-listed Abbey that went up for sale in Wytham, just outside Oxford, for a whopping £15,000,000.

This 27-bedroom mansion (yes, 27) gives a taste of rural life, being in the depths of Oxfordshire, and yet it’s still just under three miles from the famous dreaming spires.
It’s packed with historic features too, from the stained-glass panels to marble fireplaces and even a late-Georgian staircase that, as the Rightmove listing argues, ‘commands attention.’
