Giddy music lovers were treated to their music statistics of 2024 with Spotify Wrapped earlier this month – and now one of Britain’s most popular online banks is following suit.
‘Your Year in Monzo’ 2024 has been released and shows users their most frequented shops and purchases.
This year, users of the app were given the option to receive a ‘nice’ or ‘savage’ yearly recap. And the ‘savage’ results were a bit hard to swallow.
One X user summed it up: ‘Monzo wrapped really called me financially irresponsible.’
Even Metro employees weren’t spared being roasted over their financial decisions this year.
How can I see my Monzo ‘wrapped’?
If you’re having trouble accessing your ‘year in Monzo’, open the app and click the top banner.
From there, it should take you to an Instagram story-like interactive recap of your year in finances.
It recaps spending on entertainment, eating out and even countries where users travelled.
The most brutal results at Metro
The year’s recap was referred to as Deputy First-Person and Opinion Editor Ross McAfferty as his ‘idea of hell’.
Lifestyle reporter Eleanor Noyce was told her number one restaurant was the office canteen at Metro headquarters.
Social Editor Tom Brown spent ‘more than most’ at Nandos – ‘clucking delicious’, Monzo observed.
Newsletters Editor Sophie Laughton said she only uses Monzo when she travels abroad, meaning her roast was France-focused.
It read: ‘You spent more than most in France. We’re sure your friends are loving the unsolicited pronunciation tips.’
News and Social Media reporter Lucia Botfield – who prides herself on being original – said she was ‘vilified’ by her results. They called her 2024 mood ‘Giving chatty Northerners suspicious looks’.
‘You spent more than most on commuting and coffee. We’d make fun of you, but you’d probably just ignore us,’ it read.
‘I just got called basic by Monzo. I’m off to dye my hair another colour. And I think northerners are fit,’ she said.
News Reporter Luke Alsford was roasted for ranking in the top 5% at Greggs. He said: ‘I get about five sausage rolls a week.’
Senior digital designer Avril McDermott’s top entertainment spending was at PRYZM in Bristol.
Lifestyle Reporter Courtney Pochin’s 2024 mood was dubbed ‘Supermarket sarnie? Moi?’ She spent more than most at Pret this year, and was roasted for being ‘too good for a meal deal’.
How the UK spent money on Monzo in 2024
In data released by Monzo, it was found July 6 set the record for the most money spent in pubs across the UK.
The reason? England’s win over Switzerland in the semi-finals of the Euros.

Monzo added: ‘As for the final… let’s not talk about that.’
The banking app also ranked which cities had more ‘Brat’ or ‘Demure’ summers – capitalising on the summer’s biggest buzzwords.
Most UK cities embraced ‘Brat’, spending money on going out. But Newcastle, Sunderland, Glasgow and Edinburgh were more ‘Demure’, Monzo said, focusing on gym and self-care spending rather than clubs.
The city which spent the most money at night (between 11 pm and 4 am, according to Monzo), was Liverpool. Leicester ranked second, and Manchester came third.
