Nicole Scherzinger has delivered a sensational performance of one of the classic songs from the 2017 hit The Greatest Showman, belting out the high notes with incredible gusto.
In the film, which stars Hugh Jackman as showman PT Barnum, Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson plays Swedish singer Jenny Lind, who was nicknamed the ‘Swedish Nightingale’ in her heyday in the 19th century.
Loren Allred provides the vocals for Jenny in the musical, one of her most memorable performances being when she sings the emotional ballad Never Enough, which peaked at number 24 in the charts in the UK.
Pussycat Dolls star Nicole recently gave her own rendition of the song for the upcoming BBC special Musicals: The Greatest Show, singing from Los Angeles while accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra at the London Palladium.
In a clip shared exclusively with Metro.co.uk, the powerhouse singer begins by singing softly, the volume of her voice building as she cradles her microphone.
As she reaches one of the highest points in the song, the strings in the orchestra amplify the emotion she is conveying.
The mention of stars in the song’s lyrics match Nicole’s diamante-encrusted, midnight blue dress, which she accessorised with dazzling drop earrings.
In 2018, Nicole made an appearance at the concert of opera singer Andrea Bocelli at Madison Square Garden, where she performed Never Enough.
It was rumoured a few years ago that she was being considered for the role of Anne Wheeler in a Broadway adaptation of The Greatest Showman, the character played by Zendaya in the film.
In 2014, Nicole made her West End debut as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats at the London Palladium, playing the role for 12 weeks and earning a Laurence Olivier Award nomination.
