Facundo Arrizabalaga/MyLondon A mum having a stroke waited one and a half hours for an ambulance while her terrified teenage son cried down the phone. Retail worker Karen Bourne, 53, from Dagenham was at her home on Bennett's Castle Lane on April 2 when she suddenly collapsed in front of her 16-year-old son Ollie - unable to raise her arms or speak. Ollie called 999 but claimed he was told paramedics would be 35 minutes. The London Ambulance Service aims to reach category two stroke patients in 18 minutes.Karen's daughter Stevi Angove, 34, was working in Milton Keynes when "inconsolable" Ollie called her to tell her the news. "He said 'I can't move her, she's not responding, she can't lift her arm or anything'," said Stevi. The prison officer called 999 again and was told "if it worsens call us back" and they were "doing the best we can".
