This perspective has led to increased acceptance and visibility of transgender and non-binary individuals, but it also has sparked debate and controversy. Some argue that gender ideology undermines traditional gender roles and norms, while others claim that it expands opportunities for children and gives them more freedom to express themselves. Regardless, it has had significant impacts on children, as they feel pressure to conform to certain gender stereotypes or question their own gender identity in a confusing or difficult way. In this episode, I am joined by James Esses, an advocate of gender ideology and its impacts on children. He is also a former psychotherapist trainee who was expelled because of advocating for the effects of gender ideology. James shares his experience with gender ideology, the best way to tackle gender ideology, and why children are caught up in gender ideology. He also talks about the effects of gender-affirming surgery.
