The UK has a deep love for its gameshows, and with revamps emerging all the time, the nation's obsession with watching contestants strike it rich shows no signs of fading.
A recent survey, conducted in collaboration with Spin Genie’s AR Treasure Quest launch, revealed that The Chase is the UK’s most beloved gameshow, with 22% of respondents selecting it as their top choice
The ITV quiz show, known for its intense trivia, sharp Chasers, and beloved host Bradley Wash has clearly become a firm favourite with the nation.
Other well-loved gameshows also performed strongly in the survey.
ITV’s iconic Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? secured second place with 15 per cent of the votes, while the nostalgic adventure series The Crystal Maze came in third with 11 per cent.
Tied in fourth place were Tipping Point, University Challenge, and Pointless, each gaining seven per cent. Meanwhile, the 90s show Fort Boyard ranked at the bottom, with only 2 per cent of respondents choosing it as their favourite.
Favourite gameshow hosts
In addition to The Chase's success in the survey, its presenter, Bradley Walsh, has been named Britain’s most-loved gameshow host.
With 24 per cent of the vote, the presenters wit and likeable personality seems to come off well with not only The Chase's contestants but the nation too.
In the category of hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, who took over Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, secured the second spot with 11 per cent of the vote. Tied for third place were Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong and Tipping Point host Ben Shephard, each with six per cent.
At the other end of the scale, University Challenge presenter Amol Rajan found himself at the bottom of the rankings, with just two per cent of respondents naming him as their favourite.
While Stephen Mulhern, Victoria Coren Mitchell and Alan Carr all received five per cent of the vote, and Romesh Ranganthan and Gino D'Acampo received four per cent of votes.
