A collision near Redhill on the M25 lead to severe delays on Monday morning (January 15). National Highways forecast delays of over one hour, between J7 (M23) and J5 (M26), travelling clockwise.
Traffic Monitoring site Inrix reported that two lanes were closed and at times that traffic was queuing for around 12 miles. Traffic cameras showed long queues forming on the carriageway.
There was a hold of traffic at around 7.30am, but motorists were released around 10 minutes later. There was later a short hold at arounf 9am

Delays end
The M25 has got back to normal after severe delays on Wednesday morning. A collision just after J7 meant that the there where more than an hour delays travelling clockwise. Traffic was held twice, once at around 7.30 am and again at around 9am, and two lanes were also closed for a period of time.
Delays of around 30 minutes
There is still some congestion on the M25 clockwise between junctions J5 and J6. However the delays have eased to around 30 minutes with the road expected to clear soon.
Congestion for around 11 miles
There are still severe delays and queueing traffic for 11 miles due to earlier incident on the M25 clockwise from J5 M26 / A21 (Sevenoaks) to J6 A22 (Godstone). Travel time is around one hour and 20 minutes.
All lanes re-opened
All lanes have been re-opened after a second temporary holding of traffic. Cars were held at around 7.30 and then again at 9 am for a brief periods of time. Traffic monitoring site Inrix is now reporting that all lanes have now re-opened meaning that traffic may start to move.
Currently Highways England is estimating delays of around one and a half hours with the road not expected to get back to normal until at least 10.30 am.
Where are delays
With a reported 12 miles of traffic, the delays are streched across a relatively large section of the M25. Google maps shows slow or very slow moving traffic between Godstone and Dunton Green.
Traffic being held again
All traffic is being temporarily held agian on the M25 due to a collision just before J7 (M23). There are severe delatys and long queues with a travel time of more than 60 minutes. Traffic had previously been held for around 10 minutes at around 7.30 am.
Queues now at 12 miles
In its most recent update, traffic monitoring site Inrix reports that severe delays remain on the M25 between J7 (M23) and J5 (M26). Two lanes are closed and traffic is queueing for around 12 miles. Travel time remains over 60 munutes over normal conditions.
