Air fryers are becoming increasingly popular amid the current energy crisis as household costs rise rapidly. The trendy kitchen gadget is cheaper than a conventional oven and cuts cooking time by up to half.
Instagrammer @cakeontherun shares videos for quick and easy recipes to her social media followers and loves using an air fryer. She has made everything from shortbread and baked oats to roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.
This week she cooked a bacon sandwich in an air fryer and swears she will never go back to using a grill or frying pan. Not only did the bacon take just 11 minutes to cook, it required no checking or turning while the meat sizzled.

To cook bacon in an air fryer, simply pre-heat the device for a couple of minutes and then pop the slices into it. Cook it at 180 degrees and set the timer for 11 minutes. Make sure the slices are spread out and do not overlap so each rasher cooks evenly.
While the bacon is cooking, prepare the bread and sauce (red or brown) so that when the timer goes off you can simply remove the bacon and pop it into your sandwich.
