Anyone on the look to upgrade their TV this January will no doubt be scouring the sales for a worthy price, and the newest update from Sky may suit. As it launches a switch-up to its popular Sky Glass plan, new shoppers can lock into a much cheaper rate.

It now costs a little over 90p per day as it unveils a new price. It's cut £96 off the price of its luxurious 4K TV contract and Essential TV combo which you can buy here.

Now reduced to £27 per month, new customers will save £96 overall. This includes the swanky 43-inch TV, Sky Essential TV, Sky Atlantic, Discovery+, and Netflix. But, when you break down the exact price of the gogglebox is a lot cheaper than at first glimpse.

It's because the 43-inch Sky Glass device costs £12 of the total £27 price - the remaining £15 of the monthly rate makes up for the Essential TV part of the plan. So, really, shoppers are paying only 40p per day for the TV, if you split it across an average of 30 days.

Sky's switch-up has dropped the TV to less than £1 per day

Well known for their smart features, these sets differ from a standard TV The satellite-less device comes fully integrated with Sky, has no pesky streaming wires, and has a built-in Dolby Atmos sound bar - to help build a cinematic surround sound.

If a 43-inch model doesn't quite match the space you have marked up at home, then there are other options, too.

Using our same pennies-per-day ratio, the 55-inch model works out at only 56p per day - or £17 per month - however you look at it. That's £32 overall when bundled in with the Essential TV bundle.

Anyone looking at Sky packages should know that you will be tied into a 24-month contract, so there's no wiggle room (without a fee) should you decide to ditch it before it ends. Alternatively, you could look at EE and Virgin Media for other TV streaming deals.

In comparison to 2024, it is more expensive. Our tech team regularly shares deals with consumers, and as the Sky Glass set is at the top of our watchlist, it's easy to clock a cheaper rate. Looking at a previous sale in May 2024, Sky sold the 65-inch for £21 per month - not the current £22 - something shoppers may want to note before they buy.
