Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas are back to host as a fresh batch of budding bakers take to the tent to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their tasty takes on some classic bakes.
Bake Off is known for its weird and wonderful behind-the-scenes secrets, and its iconic upbeat opening titles are no different, sparking renewing debate over why there is a raspberry missing from the top of the cake every year.
But there’s another mystery contained within the credits: who is the fluffy-haired toddler that appears ten seconds into the opening sequence of Bake Off?
Here’s what you need to know.
Who is the little girl in the Great British Bake Off opening credits?
Dressed in a blue striped smock dress, the little girl in the opening credits of Bake Off is seemingly tucking into a corner of some freshly baked bread while her mother has her back turned.
Not much is known about her, however, as the men behind the Bake Off credits, composer Tom Howe and cinematographer Sam Montague, have never revealed her identity.

What we do know is that the mystery girl was two years old when she filmed the scene.
She has since appeared in the opening titles since the very beginning of the show back in 2010, meaning she is now a teenager.
It’s also widely thought that she is the daughter of one of the Bake Off crew members rather than a child actor or model, with the woman appearing in the scene suspected to be her mother.
When is the next episode of the Great British Bake Off?
Following on from last week's fiendish cake-themed challenges, Bake Off week two — airing tonight, Tuesday, September 28 — will mark the return of biscuit week.
The 11 remaining bakers will be asked to produce biscuit-based signature, technical and showstopper bakes, before Prue and Paul crown a new Star Baker and announce who will be leaving the famous Bake Off tent.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Tuesdays on Channel 4 at 8pm
