DEVELOPMENT BACKGROUND

The Pharmacy/Pharmacist EHR Functional Profile, R1, was developed with the intent to address all pharmacy practice settings.  In applying the Profile to the community practice setting, members of the Pharmacy HIT Collaborative realized that some differences in the practice setting required guidance beyond that in the Functional profile.  The Collaborative development that guidance in this document.  In addition, current work on the Pharmacy/Pharmacist EHR Functional Profile, R2 is incorporating the issues of the different practice settings.
