Section 1b: EHR - Electronic Health Records
HL7 EHRS-FM Release 2: Functional Profile; Work and Health, Release 1 – US Realm
DESCRIPTION
The primary purpose of the Work and Health Functional Profile (WHFP) is to expand the capabilities expressed in the EHR-S FM R2 for managing a patient’s “occupational data for health” (as opposed to occupational data for administrative or billing purposes) and International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) external cause of morbidity and mortality codes. Data management includes the actions to capture, maintain, render, exchange, determine, and manage-data-visibility. Since understanding a patient’s work is fundamental to providing care, the intention is to make these new and modified functions and conformance criteria available now and then incorporate them into a future release of the EHR-S FM.
