About us

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one. Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world. Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind. You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.

Excited about our deepening partnership with Anthropic. About a year ago, AWS became Anthropic’s primary cloud partner (which you can also see by the substantial momentum of Anthropic on Amazon Bedrock). Today, we become Anthropic’s primary foundation model training partner. Anthropic is excited about the price-performance advantage that Trainium offers, and we’re grateful for this confidence and partnership. Early days for what’s to come… https://lnkd.in/gzn8ZSkw

Earning trust is not about: 🚫 Agreeing with everything for the sake of social cohesion. 🚫 Denying or covering up mistakes to look good. 🚫 Manipulating data to avoid a difficult conversation. It’s about: ✅ Listening intently and challenging respectfully when you disagree. ✅ Delivering what you said you would. ✅ Presenting data transparently. Our CEO Andy Jassy talks through these common misconceptions and 7 other things you may not know about our Leadership Principles: https://amzn.to/3Z0XHjB

One of the biggest mistakes we see candidates make in their interviews is not presenting their accomplishments in a clear and concise way. If an interviewer can’t follow your stories, it’s difficult for them to assess whether you’re a fit for our role and company. That’s why we’re not secretive about our expectations. We ask behavioral-based interview questions and interviewees should use the STAR method to respond. The acronym stands for: Situation, Task, Action, and Results. ⭐ Situation: start with a clear description of a situation you were in. Avoid rambling, but offer enough detail for the interviewer to understand the complexities of it. ⭐ Task: clearly state the goal. ⭐ Action: what steps did you take? What was your contribution? Let us know what you did, not what your team or group did. ⭐ Result: don’t be shy about taking credit. What happened? How did it end? Provide examples using data. This might seem like common sense, but job interviews (at any company!) can be nerve-wracking. Most people feel some sort of pre-interview anxiety no matter what the company is. So, the more someone is prepared with a wide range of thoughtfully organized stories, the more likely they are to set themselves up for success. What other interview tips do you recommend? Here are some of ours: https://amzn.to/4eogknj

Our Vice President of Worldwide Operations, Udit Madan, walks through some recent innovations that help our employees stay safe and make sure customers get speedy deliveries. For example, Proteus – our first fully autonomous mobile robot – has the technology to work independently around people. Proteus can pick up, transport, and drop off heavy containers, so our employees don't have to. This makes for a safer working environment. Watch below to see some other cool tech. What innovations do you want to see next?

Jason Lively spent 14 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of first-degree murder and first-degree arson. After a decade of appeals, he received a call from his legal team saying that he was going to be let out of prison. His legal team worked with lawyers from Amazon to build his exoneration case. For the past 10 years, Amazon’s legal and public policy teams of over 2,200 employees have volunteered their expertise and resources to make a difference through our pro bono program, and this is one example of that work. This is one example of how our legal and public policy teams of over 2,200 employees have volunteered to help make a difference through our pro bono program. When children flee from war, violence, or persecution in their home countries and arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border, they can face the same deportation process as an adult, often without any legal counsel. Our team has partnered with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) to represent children and help them remain in the U.S. This is another example. This need for pro bono work all around the world is greater than ever, and we will continue to invest our time and resources into the program. We are proud to celebrate 10 years of pro bono work at Amazon this year. Read more about the program here: https://amzn.to/40A4LGk There are plenty more examples in the link above. Which one sticks out to you the most? ⬇️ 🤔

💡 Employee Spotlight 💡 Meet Chinemerem (Chí-Chí) Nwandu, an HR Assistant at DOX2, who’s inspiring Amazon journey showcases remarkable career growth and the importance of a supportive company culture. Chí-Chí relocated from Nigeria in January 2020 for her Master's Degree, and shortly after, the world went into lockdown. She found herself in a foreign country, far from family and friends, leaving her lonely and frustrated. Then, she got a job with Amazon, which changed everything. Chí-Chí started her career at Amazon as a warehouse associate working with a dedicated team focused on maintaining product quality. Two years later, she continued her career at Amazon as an HR Assistant, where she’s been able to utilise her knowledge of employment law and HR/payroll practices, enhance employee engagement, and even have the opportunity to take on an interim managerial position. A rewarding part of Chí-Chí’s role is aligning HR initiatives with business goals while promoting fairness across the organization. As an active member of the UK Ops Black Employee Network (BEN) affinity group, she’s deeply passionate about promoting diversity, particularly for young Black female employees, and using her voice to raise awareness about the challenges ethnic minorities face in the workplace. “I enjoy working at Amazon because of its strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and fostering a supportive workplace culture. Being part of a company that values people from all backgrounds allows for rich collaboration and the exchange of unique perspectives, which drives innovation and creativity.”
