Photos show town heaving as shoppers brave the fog for Boxing Day sales
As the afternoon unfolded in the city centre, a sea of shoppers flooded the streets
Christmas is a time filled with traditions, from Christmas Eve pyjamas to lighting a boozy Christmas pudding. For many people, the annual Boxing Day sales are as much of a tradition as any other part of the festive season.
Every year Liverpool city centre is filled with people out hunting for a bargain in the sales, or just looking to blow away the Christmas Day cobwebs with a walk around the shops. We sent our photographers out to the city centre this afternoon to see it all unfold.
The Boxing Day sales have always been one of the busiest days for Liverpool's high streets, and people weren't deterred by today's foggy weather. Photos show the city streets packed with shoppers making the most of the sales.
Earlier today, shoppers queued around the block for the Boxing Day sale at Liverpool's city centre LUSH store. Bargain hunters bundled up in their coats on a chilly Boxing Day morning in hopes of bagging a bargain at the city store., with some saying they had been stood outside since 6am.
