Fearne Cotton has bravely revealed the healing scars from having surgery two remove tumours from her jaw.

The Happy Place podcast host and TV and radio presenter revealed earlier this month that she was undergoing an operation to remove two benign tumours from her jaw.

Today she returned to social media to share a glimpse of her recovery. Fearne, who is a mum of two, said she was 'feeling grateful that I'm healing well and will wear this scar with pride.'

Alongside photos of the right side of her face, Fearne began: The human body is incredible.

"In less than three weeks you can barely notice where I had the tumour removed. I feel almost normal. My ear is still quite numb and my face a little tender but other than that I'm feeling good.

Only swipe if you want to see the gradual stages of healing. It's not massively gruesome but it certainly looks worse than photo number 1. I found the whole process fascinating and feel very grateful that the operation went well and that the tumour was benign. My surgeon Professor Oflynn made me feel extremely calm and all the nurses were complete angels. Nurse Jackie was especially amazing whilst I was in hospital telling me to get off my phone and nap etc. I needed a firm telling off at times."

She went on: "Feeling grateful that I'm healing well and will always wear this scar with pride. A reminder to slow down and look after myself." It's been a difficult few weeks for the star who also announced she was splitting with her husband Jesse Woods.

Earlier this month, Fearne told her followers she had a benign tumour in her jaw below her ear and another 'little tiny one' above it.

“I’m very grateful they’re benign but they do need to come out because they’re on a nerve. So I’m gonna have that surgery, and then I’m gonna be resting to get better before Christmas. Not very good at resting, so wondering how that’s gonna go. But I’m feeling okay about it. I’m going into the operation feeling good and well.”

Fearne's health news was followed up by another bombshell announcement from the presenter, as she then announced that she and her husband Jesse Wood have separated following 10 years of marriage.

In a post to her Instagram story days later she said: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been, and will always be, our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”

Cotton married Wood, the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, in July 2014 at Richmond Register Office in south-west London after announcing their engagement in 2013. The couple, who share son Rex and daughter Honey, met in Ibiza in 2011. Wood has two other children, Arthur and Lola, from a previous relationship.

Breaking her silence after the split, Fearne spoke on Caroline Hirons' podcast about the "toxic pressure" women face to "have it all." Reflecting on the overwhelming weeks few weeks of dealing with her health issues, marriage breakdown and juggling being a mum with her workload, she admitted: "The pressure is immense."

She said: “There is a lot of pressure for women to prove ourselves, that we can run businesses, I'm trying to do the same with Happy Place. But if we are honest, the pressure is immense."

She went on: "“I want to grow and expand myself in many ways but I don't want to feel depleted and stressed out and not be able to be present in my family home, [I want to] have time with my friends, have fun. There is still that toxic sort of trope that women can have it all, that people believe.”

The broadcaster has presented on shows including The Xtra Factor, Top Of The Pops, and was a panellist on ITV’s Celebrity Juice. In 2015 she stepped down from presenting BBC Radio 1’s mid-morning show for “family and new adventures”, after she revealed she was pregnant with her second child earlier that year.

Fearne currently hosts the Happy Place podcast where she has interviewed celebrities including US actress Riley Keough, Scottish TV and film star David Tennant and singer Perrie Edwards.
