Every household seems to have that infamous Tupperware drawer; some neat, others a jumbled mess, and it’s a sure bet plenty of the containers are starting to look a bit yellow.
Those persistent stains that just don’t come off often mark the end of many Tupperware boxes. However, you might not need to throw them away just yet, as there's a surprisingly simple trick that promises to banish the build-up with ease. The hack, revealed by TikTok sensation @jordan_the_stallion8, has impressed his followers immensely.
This savvy 'hero', as fans have called him, dished out his knowledge while responding to a video from @facesbyadi, who shared her method for stain removal including dish soap, warm water, and a paper towel - closed up in the Tupperware, shaken vigorously for up to a minute.
Jordan, however, suggested taking it up a notch, adding an extra ingredient into the mix. He clarified: "In that video she said that the secret to get the red little stains out of your Tupperware containers is just to put dish soap in it with hot water and a paper towel, close the lid and shake it."
He goes on to educate his viewers: "But what they don't tell you is that the red stains is called lycopene and because that molecule is hydrophobic those stains like to cling onto plastic."
Jordan suggested a unique cleaning tip: "Water doesn't really get rid of them. What you need to do is rub butter around the edges of the containers that have red stains on them and then put the dish soap in there and shake it around, and it will all go away."
As he demonstrated his method on a stained container, Jordan recommended shaking the tub until the solution appears clear, and just like magic – the stains disappeared. The trick went viral, leaving viewers astonished, as one exclaimed: "Witchcraft! it can't be that easy after all these years."
Another confessed: "This man teaches me more than school ever did," while a third lamented past losses with "RIP to all the ones I could've saved... dang." And there you have the secret to redeeming your Tupperware drawer – now just hunt down those elusive lids.
