England have made it into a second consecutive Euros final.

The Three Lions dismissed of the Netherlands in Dortmund and now tee-up a finale with Spain on Sunday. Ollie Watkins was the hero as he came off the bench to fire England through.

The Aston Villa striker, who replaced skipper Harry Kane with 10 minutes remaining, combined with fellow subs Cole Palmer before finding the bottom corner with a fierce right-foot shot.

England were deserved winners - but had to come from behind for the third successive game to book a date with Spain in Sunday’s final in Berlin. But the win hasn't gone down well everywhere. The Dutch have been left furious with the decision to award Kane a penalty. Even Gary Neville was among those left baffled as he labelled 'disgraceful'.

There's also news of a potential bank holiday should Gareth Southgate's men FINALLY bring football home.

Mirror Football has all the reaction to England's dramatic win.

That's all, folks

Ollie Watkins: From Weston-super-Mare to Berlin

From being thrown into a relegation battle in the sixth-tier amid the tranquil surroundings of Somerset to the decisive moment in a European Championship semi-final in Dortmund, the Ollie Watkins story has it all.

Watkins was England's unlikely hero on Thursday night, where he plundered a 90th minute goal to send his country through to the Euro 2024 final while simultaneously breaking millions of Dutch hearts.

But his crowning moment in Dortmund's Westfalenstadion is a world away from Watkins' upbringing in Devon, where he was nurtured in the Exeter City academy.

His journey has been nothing short of remarkable - and he's got every England fan dreaming of glory after a goal which will stand the test of time.

Halsey: England should not have had penalty

England should NOT have been given a penalty against the Netherlands, ex-Premier League official Mark Halsey has claimed.

The Three Lions were awarded a controversial spot-kick on Dortmund on Wednesday. Referee Felix Zwayer did not give it after Harry Kane and Denzel Dumfries clashed.

But VAR intervened, leading to a rethink from the German official. Kane duly dispatched his spot-kick to level the game after Xavi Simons’ scintillating opener. But the decision has garnered severe criticism, including from former Premier League official Halsey. He suggests that Zwayer’s original decision should have remained.

None more so than what Ollie Watkins did last night. So absolutely delighted. Bring on Sunday and it’s going to be the biggest test we’ve had so far. Spain are the team who have been the best in the tournament so far. We’ve got one big hurdle and I believe we can do it.”

Final details

England have a date with destiny to look forward to this weekend as they take on Spain in the Euro 2024. Here are all of the details you need:

Date: Sunday, July 14

Location: Olympiastadion, Berlin

Time: 8pm

Southgate explains England concern

Gareth Southgate has explained that Spain's extra days rest could give them the advantage in the Euro 2024 final.

He said: "The extra day is a concern. In the last few tournaments that has been a problem for finalists so we’ve got to do the very best we can to recover the players as well as we can.

"But we’re not going to be on the training ground, it’s simple, we’re going to be walking through things or delivering things in meetings, which is the same for this game.

"But we’re in there and with what we’ve shown to this point we have as good a chance as they do."

Koeman gives final prediction

Ronald Koeman sees no reason why England can't upset the odds vs Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

He said: "I think England played really well after going 1-0 down. Maybe Spain are playing great football, with exciting wingers and building from the back. But England are in the final and, while Spain are playing at a high level, maybe England can beat them. Why not?"

Dutch star savages referee

Former Netherlands striker Pierre van Hooijdonk has savaged referee Felix Zwayer after his penalty decision vs England.

Speaking to Dutch media, he said: "They can thank Felix Zwayer. He really needs to be blacklisted. Terrible.

"Also in the second half. A duel with Cody Gakpo where he simply blew his whistle again, ten meters from the linesman. Those are moments that were crucial in this match.

"We can talk about it at length, but if you’re going to award a penalty for this. Then you could end up with eight of them on the spot in the final. Really terrible."

VAR expert explains Kane penalty

VAR expert Dale Johnson has attempted to explain just why England were awarded a penalty vs the Netherlands.

Speaking on ESPN, he said: "It's a very harsh intervention by the VAR, Bastian Dankert. He has taken the nature of Dumfries' challenge, leading with the studs as opposed to making an attempt to kick through the ball, as being reckless -- which is why the Netherlands' player was booked. And that's the one area where a defender catching an attacker after a shot can be seen as a penalty -- when it's reckless or dangerous."

How did they do it?

It was only just over seven hours ago that Ollie Watkins' strike nestled into the far corner of the Dutch net in Dortmund.

But that does not tell the full story of the game. There was an absolute rocket from Xavi Simons, a hugely controversial penalty, posts hit, bars struck, great saves.

England are into final after Ollie Watkins scored a last-gasp winner to beat the Netherlands and set up a showdown with Spain in the final...

Watkins describes "slow motion" goal

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ollie Watkins said: "When you score there are emotions that come through your body but this is just a different feeling.

"It was in slow motion when I ran to celebrate with the boys. I didn’t want to get off the pitch at the end, I wanted to soak it all in as it doesn’t happen often.

"The ball came into me, hold up is not the strongest side of my game but the goal was my bread and butter. I said to Cole Palmer we were both going to go on the pitch and he would set me up and it happened.

"You don’t get that opportunity very often and I had to be greedy and take the shot. I don’t think I have hit the ball so sweet like that before."

Bellingham reacts

England star Jude Bellingham has spoken about the team's togetherness ahead of their clash with Spain.

"We're going to get criticism when we don't play well but it's important that we build that resistance to it and we come together and win these games," he told ITV. "These moments are great, it brings us together as a team and a family.

"These moments make us more together and we take it into the final now. Ollie Watkins came on and took his opportunity. I'm buzzing for him. You're not starting every game like you would for your club and it's difficult."

Kane addresses penalty controversy

Harry Kane scored England's equaliser from the penalty spot, but many pundits felt the Three Lions should not have been awarded a spot kick for Denzel Dumfries' challenge on the skipper.

However, when asked about the incident, Kane told ITV: "My foot's hanging off so he definitely caught me! Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. I was happy to step up and see that go in the back of he net. It was a nice feeling for sure."
