The Masked Singer returned tonight in a rather unusual way as Joel Dommett aired a lockdown special from his own home.

The presenter was joined by judges Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross as they were tasked with guessing the celebrities masked by emojis.

First up was someone singing Sex Bomb, who both Davina and Jonathan described as having a "buff body" and sexy voice.

While Jonathan guessed JLS star Marvin Humes, Davina suggested Andi Peters or Ore Oduba.

Next up was a man who Jonathan Ross joked "wasn't someone blessed with good rhythm".

"I was thinking Rob Becket," Jonathan remarked. "The outfit, house looks like it could be Epping."

However Davina was convinced it was James Argent, who was known for his love of crooning.

Third up was a man singing Britney Spears' Hit Me Baby One More Time.

However, the judges were clueless and he gave them a clue: "I have appeared on stage with a coat of many colours."

The duo guessed that it could be either Phillip Schofield, Jason Donathan or Chesney Hawkes.

Davina ranked their favourites, placing the second singer in third place - who they discovered was Arg!

Second place was the first performer, who was revealed to be Ore Oduba.

The winner, who performed the Britney song, was unmasked as Chesney Hawkes.

This comes after ITV confirmed earlier this year that The Masked Singer would be returning for a second series.

The show certainly captivated viewers and bagged a peak audience of 8.4million during its final in February.
