Britney Spears is reportedly reconnecting with her youngest son after years of estrangement, according to various sources. The 42 year old pop sensation is mum to Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 46.

Over the past few years, it's been reported that Britney's relationship with her sons has been strained, and they grew apart following the end of her controversial conservatorship in November 2021. However, new reports suggest that Britney and Jayden James have been spending quality time together since he returned to California from Hawaii, where he had moved with his dad.

It's said that the mother-son duo have been enjoying their time at her home. This reunion has reportedly brought joy to Britney and hints at a stronger bond forming between them. Yet, other reports suggest that Kevin is unaware of the reunion, with a lawyer issuing a statement implying he's not too pleased about the news. People magazine reported on Monday that Jayden James had visited his mum at her Los Angeles home, with a source telling them: "Spending time together has made her happy."

PageSix also reported on the reunion, with a source revealing: "[Britney and Jayden James] have been spending a lot of time together.", reports the Mirror. Another source added: "Britney is thrilled to have her baby back. Everything is moving in the right direction."

The latest news comes nearly two years after Kevin Federline asked for permission to relocate his sons to Hawaii with him, his wife Victoria Prince, and their two children - Peyton, 8, and Jordan, 11. The family flew off for a fresh start on the American island in May 2023 - with an insider revealing to People at the time: "Britney has always faithfully supported her children and wants them to be happy."

However, TMZ is offering a different perspective on the situation - with a lawyer's comments casting doubt over Kevin's happiness about his son reuniting with his mother. The dancer's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, informed the outlet: "If there has been a reconciliation it's news to Kevin." The outlet also reported: "Kevin speaks to Jayden frequently and hasn't been told about any kind of reconciliation between the 18-year-old and his mom."

The Mirror has reached out to Britney's representative for a comment.
