TV presenter Joel Dommett, who was runner up in the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, revealed on Good Morning Britain that the jungle show’s popular spin off Extra Camp is coming back alongside the new series next month. The show is being renamed I’m A Celebrity Unpacked, and will feature all the inside gossip and entertainment about the camp mates.
The sister show was dropped four years ago, but an ITV spokesperson confirmed that it is back, saying: “Since Extra Camp came off air four years ago, the conversation and engagement around I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! continues to grow across all social media platforms. This new ITV2 companion show will bring together all those conversations in one place, to give viewers the ultimate IAC destination for all of their news, gossip and behind the scenes fun around TV’s biggest entertainment show.”
Speaking on GMB, Joel said: “I feel like it’s the right time to bring it back. There’s a thirst for it.” He will be presenting I’m A Celebrity Unpacked alongside current King of the Jungle Sam Thompson and DJ Kemi Rodgers. Sam added: "I am not joking, it is the best show on TV. Being a part of it, then being on the other side, is a dream come true." The show will include interviews with campmates who have been voted out, as well as chats with hosts Ant and Dec.
The original Extra Camp series ran from 2002 until 2020 and was previously presented by celebrities including Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Kelly Osbourne, Emma Willis, Matt Willis, Joe Swash, Scarlett Moffatt, Vick Hope, Adam Thomas, Rob Beckett and Laura Whitmore. In its final year, it was renamed The Daily Drop.

The new series of I’m A Celebrity starts on 17 November, and is once again being filmed in New South Wales, with Ant and Dec as hosts. Following Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage’s recent stays in the jungle, Ant and Dec suggested that no more politicians should be invited on the show this time around. In an Instagram post when they were asked if they would have former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak come out to the camp, Dec said: “I think we do a year without any politicians,” to which Ant added: “Agreed, agreed, agreed.”
However, some fans are speculating that another former Prime Minister, Liz Truss, could do the show this year, and other names who have been tipped for a trip Down Under include Coleen Rooney, Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse, singer Tulisa, Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, former footballer Ally McCoist and reality star Olivia Atwood.
