A whole raft of new roadworks start this week in Plymouth. And will see closures and delays on some of the busiest roads which will last for more than a month.
The A38, Tavistock Road, and Budshead Way will all see closures and new schemes starting this week. There are also closures all next weekend from Friday to Morning on Basket Ope/The Parade for Plymouth Seafest.
From Monday, and lasting until Saturday, October 14, there will be overnight closures on Tavistock Road (outbound) and Budshead Way (southbound). The road will be closed from Budshead Road to Crownhill Road, with no access to Budshead Way from Tavistock Road from, 7pm to 6am, every night. This is so Plymouth City Council can carry out barrier, street lighting, signage and vegetation works
And lasting until Friday night, the slip road from Marsh Mills to Leigham Roundabout will be closed westbound. Closures are in place from 9pm and 6am for the next four night, and so Plymouth City Council can carry out lining works.
Plymouth City Council has helpfully put out a list of roadworks that will be taking place across the city over the next week. The council is responsible for coordinating works carried out by utility companies, developers and other organisations as well as their own repair, maintenance and improvement works.
They maintain all public roads in Plymouth except the A38, which is managed by National Highways on behalf of the Department for Transport.
“We know there's no good time to close roads, especially on busy routes and we do everything we can to co-ordinate planned works and minimise their impact on our transport network,” a City Council spokesman said.
he following roadworks are taking place in Plymouth between Monday 11 and Saturday 16 September .
