eBay revamps Android app ahead of holiday shopping with improved browsing, product pages, more

Ahead of the holiday shopping season, eBay today has updated its iOS and Android apps with a new, more user-friendly interface and browsing process. The update comes following the addition of Touch ID and Android Wear support over the summer.

The new eBay apps for iOS and Android include a host of changes. First off, the browsing experience has been revamped. Now, when you tap the “categories” option, you’ll be directed to new “Browse” pages that offer relevant information for whatever category you’re viewing.

Also with today’s update comes a new product based shopping experience. The most popular categories have long displayed best selling products from that category, but new product pages now help you choose from the overwhelming amount of product on eBay. You can easily adjust criteria to see newer models, older molds, and much more.

Next up, the home screen of the app has been refreshed to make it easier to jump back into the browsing process, even after you close the app. You can also quickly browse deals and best selling products from the home screen.

Finally, ratings and reviews have also be revamped to show more detail about a product you’re considering to purchase.

  • Browse Experience: Tapping “categories” from, the iOS header or Android homepage will take you to Browse pages with relevant and engaging content at any category level.
  • Personalized content on the home screen: The eBay app now helps you pick up where you left off directly on the home screen. Browse deals and best selling products based on your recent activity.
  • Ratings and Reviews: Want an unbiased opinion about the product that you are looking to buying? Check out the user reviews that are straight from the eBay community to make sure the item is perfect for you.

The latest version of eBay for iOS and Android is available now on the App Store and Play Store, respectively.
