The Galaxy Watch 5 is starting to see One UI 6 availability in the US. This comes as the software based on Wear OS 5 has been rolling out to the Galaxy Watch 5 in other regions.
The Galaxy Watch series has had a rough entry into One UI 6, which is based on Wear OS 5. The OS debuted with the Galaxy Watch 7, but didn’t see full availability on other devices until only recently. Samsung made a beta version available for users to try, but even that was much later in the year.
The Galaxy Watch 5 is the latest in a slew of models that is starting to see One UI 6. The Watch 5 and Watch FE have already had access to the OS, but only in Europe. Today, it looks like Samsung is rolling the upgrade out to Watch 5 models in the US.
Samsung posted the changelog to its website, but it isn’t clear if only the Bluetooth or LTE models can access the software update. Further, the update could include the Pro variant, but it isn’t clear yet. The changelog post simply notes that the Galaxy Watch 5 Bluetooth model will immediately get One UI 6 in the US.
One UI 6 is a significant update, which is why it’s been so frustrating for users to have to wait so long. It brings several new watch faces, a new health suite with custom workouts, and access to a new Sleep Apnea detection tool. In all, it’s a great update and should be live on Watch 5 models soon.
