Samsung rolling out first monthly update of 2025 to these Galaxy devices

Samsung is in the process of rolling out the first monthly update of 2025 with the January 2025 security patch, and it’s available to quite a few Galaxy devices. Here’s the list and what you should know.

Samsung Galaxy January 2025 update – What’s new?

As is the average with these monthly security patches, you won’t find much of anything in terms of new features in this update. The main focus is on security, where you’ll see the January 2025 security patch applied.

Samsung details just shy of 30 total fixes in this latest security patch, including five “Critical” updates from Google’s January 2025 security bulletin. There were 22 further Samsung-specific updates made this month as well.

One UI 7 has not yet started rolling out beyond a beta program specific to the Galaxy S24 series, but is expected to arrive as soon as February 2025 following the launch of Galaxy S25 later this month.
