Let’s build something together

Detroit, a city known for innovation and resilience, is a mosaic of global corporations, bustling small businesses, award-winning restaurants, a flourishing arts scene and a palpable sense of community. Anchored in our commitment to Responsible Growth, Bank of America offers various resources – from financing to philanthropy – channeling our efforts towards improving economic mobility, and community-building.

Our commitment to jobs removes barriers for meaningful adult and youth employment, and through partnerships with organizations like our citywide summer jobs program, we leverage collaborations to help give everyone a chance. We provide small business resources with help from the Small Business Community Office, dedicated to providing technical assistance, participating in educational forums, and connecting businesses to the tools it needs to be successful. And we support partners providing access to homeownership training and innovative housing initiatives, collaborating with the City of Detroit Mayor's affordable housing program and local organizations, actively contributing to a thriving and inclusive Detroit.

Bank of America's commitment to Detroit tells a story of responsible growth and progress.

Closing the digital divide, opening new opportunities

For young people, the digital divide can be a daunting barrier to entry for careers in IT. That’s why NPower Michigan offers Tech Fundamentals, an education and job placement program for young people ages 18-25 and military veterans that provides the skills training and career pathways needed to enter and succeed in this growing field. A grant from Bank of America will help NPower Michigan continue to offer Tech Fundamentals and support the expansion of the program.

Supporting economic opportunity

At Bank of America, we help people, businesses, and local communities pursue opportunities to thrive. We have worked broadly in these areas for many years. Internally, this is core to being a great place to work, hiring and recruiting the best talent including teammates with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Externally, this is core to our client-driven approach, delivering products and services that meet the needs of clients, and investing our resources to support our local communities.
