AccessibleEU is one of the flagship initiatives proposed by the European Commission Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030. It is a resource Centre on accessibility working on areas such as built environment, transport, information and communication technologies to ensure the participation of persons with disabilities in all areas of life on equal basis with others.

The European Commission is updating the EU Disability Right Strategy in 2025. New actions and flagship initiatives that will be included to help close some remaining gaps particularly in the areas of employment, accessibility and independent living.
2024 has been a remarkable year for AccessibleEU that brought with it powerful experiences full of challenges and rewards. It has been a year of growth with several highlights worth mentioning.
Organised by AccessibleEU and UN Tourism in collaboration with ENAT, Fundación ONCE and Ilunion Accesibilidad, the workshop 'Accessible Tourism: Harnessing the benefits of inclusive destinations for companies and people' will take place on 23 January in Madrid.
