The DIFC Courts is an independent English language common law judiciary based in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) with jurisdiction governing civil and commercial disputes. Its mission is to uphold the principles of fairness and impartiality and to dispense equal justice according to the law and international best practices. The DIFC Courts comprises of the Small Claims Tribunal (SCT), Court of First Instance, and Court of Appeal. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Judicial Council, received today, Wednesday, a delegation from the DIFC Courts, led by H.E. Justice Omar Al Mheiri, Director of the DIFC Courts, at His Highness’s office at the University of Sharjah. During the meeting, His Highness and the delegation discussed key areas of cooperation between the judiciary in the Emirate of Sharjah and the DIFC Courts. His Highness was also introduced to the global standards upon which the DIFC Courts are based, along with best practices and international benchmarks aimed at achieving judicial efficiency, excellence, and jurisdiction.
