🚀 On January 8, 2025, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published the 2024 European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) XBRL taxonomy files and an updated ESEF Conformance Suite.  These updates are designed to assist vendors and issuers in preparing 2024 IFRS consolidated financial statements that comply with the 2024 ESEF Regulation update. Key Takeaways: 🔹 The 2024 taxonomy incorporates the latest updates to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) taxonomy for 2023 and 2024. 🔹 Applies to financial years starting on/after January 1, 2024, with enforcement expected mid-January 2025. Day 2 at the MEIRA Annual Conference: a celebration of success! Day 1 at the MEIRA Annual Conference: a fantastic start! Fanda was thrilled to participate in Day 1 of the Middle East Investor Relations Association Annual Conference, held in partnership with Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (#ADX) and ADNOC Group. The event brought together over 900 delegates, highlighting MEIRA’s growing prominence among investor relations professionals in the region. Our experts, Mikhail Seleznev and Guy Lane, conducted a workshop titled ‘Mastering Reports: Guiding Newcomers and Overcoming Key Challenges for Experienced Professionals’. It was an invaluable opportunity to engage with attendees, exchange ideas, and discuss the latest innovations in reporting and ESG practices. Our stand became a hub of interaction as we reconnected with many of our clients and met wonderful new faces from corporates and advisory firms. A highlight of the day was the performance by an impressive local band, which added a cultural touch to the conference. We’re delighted to see MEIRA’s growth and the enthusiasm of its community. 🌍 Reflections on the 2nd Edition Middle East ESG Reporting & Data Summit It was an honour to moderate a panel at this impactful event, where discussions highlighted the evolving landscape of ESG reporting in the region: 🔹 The importance of credible and assured sustainability data in shaping transparent ESG strategies. 🔹 Comprehensive panels on sustainable supply chains and the circular economy. 🔹 The role of green finance and incorporating sustainability into KPIs for improved access to capital. During our panel, we explored: • The significance of social initiatives and diversity, including for global companies entering the region. • Solid data collection and management, and how that relates to credible sustainability data. • The evolving ESG regulatory landscape in the region, particularly around climate reporting, and how by adopting these changes issuers can enhance performance, reduce costs, and promote sustainable operations. A huge thank you to the event organisers Bhavana M, Rasika N., and panel members Francesco Portioli, Abhigyan Gupta, and Dorian Bomble for making this summit a success.
