BUT, some of you are aware that my second master degree is Global Political Economy and I’m passionate about the impact of global geopolitics on the economy, financial and capital markets. Recently, I attended a kickoff of the 3rd volume of the Fiker Institute public lecture series with Professor Jonathan Fulton The lecture explored China’s evolving policy agenda in the Middle East and the region’s increasing strategic importance to Beijing. Professor Fulton explained key drivers behind China’s policies and related to: - energy security, - infrastructure investments under the Belt and Road Initiative, - its approach to regional diplomacy and possible implications of China’s growing presence in the Middle East for regional and global geopolitics.
