23 is a special number. It was Michael Jordan’s shirt number in the all-conquering Chicago Bulls team. His winning mentality is immortalized in the quote “I never lost a game, I only ran out of time” that takes centre piece in the Gambit HQ. It was later David Beckham’s number at LA Galaxy, where he won back to back league titles. 23 is also the number of trophies Gambit PR & Communications won at the #2024MEPRAAwards on Thursday night, making us the biggest winning independent agency in the region, five years after launching. We took home ‘Medium Agency of the Year’ and ‘Homegrown Agency of the Year’, rounding off a night with 9 x Golds, 8 x Silvers and 6 x Bronzes for campaigns with Aramex, Mall Of The Emirates, BMW Group, City Centre Mirdif, GEELY UAE (AGMC), McLaren Automotive Ltd, Western Digital, Mandarin Oriental (Al Faisaliyah Riyadh) and Addleshaw Goddard. On an individual level, I was proud and honored to be given the prestigious Chairman’s Award for my 17 years service to the PR industry, while Alexandra Richards was the Highly Commended Young Communicator of the Year and our very own Judy Bakieh was the fantastic MC for the night!
