Fascinating discussion with an excellent panel at “The Journey To Resolving Energy Disputes In The Region” event. Andy Daykin's key takeaways from the discussion include: Prevention is better than cure, emphasising the importance of having a robust and suitable contract at the start. There is still a culture in the region of contractors ‘buying work’ below cost, which inevitably results in disputes. Tender boards need to stop automatically awarding to the lowest bids. Encourage the human element in discussions between opposing parties to help reach an agreement. Do not wait for the opposition to target and highlight your weak points, deal with them on your own terms. Thank you to Global Advocacy and Legal Counsel for hosting a fantastic event – Josette was a great venue and the food superb! #dubaiarbitrationweek
