Chirag Paswan, Hon'ble Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, on February 18, 2025, at Embassy Suites by Hilton Dubai Business Bay, Dubai. The insightful discussion focused on India's agri-food sector, Shri. Paswan's vision for India to become a leading global hub for value-added agri-food products, the significance of co-investments, and value-chain collaborations between India and UAE-based businesses. He emphasized the role of India-UAE CEPA agreement in catalyzing long-term industrial collaborations, going beyond traditional trade agreement. What an incredible experience it has been to be part of the organising team for the IBPC Corporate Quiz 2025, a landmark event that brought together some of the brightest minds from across the corporate world! IBPC Dubai recently concluded its Corporate Quiz 2025 held at the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm, Dubai. The event witnessed successful participation from top-tier companies, including efunder, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Kernerl MFO, Yokai, Consults, Alshaya Group, TBWA\Raad, and Amazon. Pratyush Goel from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority emerged as the quiz champion and won cash prizes and gifts, including AED 7,500 in cash, one-night stay for two at Taj Exotica Dubai, a business-class return ticket to India, courtesy of Air India Limited, a diamond pendant from Mia by Tanishq, and a gift hamper from Tata Consumer Products. Pradeep Atmaram from Yokai secured the first-runner up spot and won AED 5,000 in cash, a premium economy ticket, one-night stay for two at the Taj Hotels Business Bay, a diamond pendant from Mia by Tanishq, and a gift hamper from Tata Consumer Products. Nikhil Kumar representing TBWA\Raad claimed the second runner-up position, winning AED 2,500 cash, a return economy ticket, one-night stay for two at the Taj Hotels JLT, a diamond pendant from Mia by Tanishq, and a gift hamper from Tata Consumer Products. The breakfast discussion centered around India’s gleaming growth story touching upon the dawn of simplified taxation in the Indian landscape and the surge in MNCs heading towards India to set up their Global Capability Centers (GCC) driven by the young population exceeding 600 million. India boasts of a burgeoning middle class segment accounting for more than 432 million people. #Budget2025 was a strategic game changer for India’s middle- class population as it aimed to lower tax burdens on the segment and act as a “force multiplier” spurring savings, investment, consumption and growth. More than 40% of India’s population is below the age of 25 and the country has set its sight on transcending into the #fastestgrowingeconomy over the next decade. Tax reforms aimed at empowering India’s middle-class population will prove imperative in catapulting the country towards renewed #economic momentum. With India and the UAE’s partnership continually growing into new realms and the Indian expat population in UAE being on the rise, discussions like the one organized by IBPC, last week, are a key step in the direction towards elevating the business & professional landscape in the UAE. Reminiscing India's 76th Republic Day: Bridging Cultures and Traditions! For an expatriate, Republic Day stands as a poignant occasion, bridging the temporal and spatial divide from my homeland, India. Despite residing abroad for over three decades, the cultural resonance of this day remains undiminished. On January 26th, the Indian Business & Professional Council and Consulate General of India hosted an event of exceptional grandeur. The assembly featured erudite keynote addresses from esteemed dignitaries, including H.E. Shri Sunjay Sudhir, the Ambassador of India to the UAE; H.E. Satish Kumar Sivan, the Consul General of India to Dubai & Northern Emirates and Siddharth Balachandran, the Chairman of IBPC Dubai. On January 28th, the Consulate General of India hosted a magnificent Republic Day celebration in Ras Al Khaimah, which has a thriving Indian diaspora and a flourishing industrial landscape. The event underscored the robust presence of Indian industries in the Northern Emirate Ras Al Khaimah. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of HH HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, whose speech added a regal touch to the proceedings. The thoughtful gesture by the Consulate General of India included two key events: the first focused on strengthening the Indo-UAE bilateral relationship, with a particular emphasis on the prosperous ties between India and Ras Al Khaimah. The second followed by a grand gala dinner in the evening which showcased Indian culture and the vibrant performance by Malhaar UAE infused the atmosphere with colorful rhythms, transforming it into a festival-like experience. The most notable highlight was the presence of HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi at both events, which was held at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria. Such events are a profound reminder of my rich cultural heritage, providing a deep sense of belonging and pride.
