نبذة عنا
The PRCA was founded in London in 1969 and launched PRCA MENA in 2016 with the aim of raising standards in PR and communications. The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) is the world’s largest professional PR body. We represent more than 35,000 PR professionals in 70 countries worldwide. With offices in London, Singapore, Dubai, and Buenos Aires, we are a global advocate for excellence in public relations. Our mission is to create a more professional, ethical, and prosperous PR industry. We champion – and enforce – professional standards in the UK and overseas through our Professional Charter and Code of Conduct. The Code compels members to adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice. We deliver exceptional training, authoritative industry data, and global networking and development opportunities. We also manage the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), the umbrella body for 41 PR associations and 3,000 agencies across the world, and LG Comms – the UK’s national body for authorities raising standards of local government communication.

Last week, we wrapped up our fantastic PRCA MENA Annual Conference and Members Networking Evening with great aplomb. Kicking off the conference with her important keynote address to over 120 delegates was Her Excellency Maitha Majed AlSuwaidi, CEO of Media Strategy and Policy Sector at the مجلس الإمارات للإعلام UAE Media Council, who stressed on the importance of collaboration and innovation to achieve the highest standards in media. She said: “By working together, championing innovation and excellence, and adopting the latest technologies, we can elevate the quality of media content to the highest standards of transparency and credibility.” She indelibly set the tone for the next eight hours where panelists debated over pertinent, even bold, topics including the Future of PR, AI, What Women Want, ESG, Crisis and the secrets to Saudi’s success. It’s pretty hard for most PR folks to freely speak their minds on public forums, but our panelists didn’t seem to have any trouble at all - already a testament to transparency and progress. Bravo! Firstly, I’d like to thank our supporters, partners and friends of the PRCA for always being there when we need you. Merci beaucoup to our chair Ahmad Itani, vice-chair Imad Lahad, our board members and everyone else who go out of their way to help make our good work possible including my own big boss Falah Faisal Jafrani. I would personally like to thank our dedicated panelists, speakers and friends of the PRCA, some of whom travelled great distances to be with us - Abdulrahman Abed and Peter van der Merwe from Saudi Arabia, our fab PRCA team from London Melissa Cannon and Souha Khairallah and Bia Assevero who flew down especially from New York. Thank you Gregg Fray Sophie Simpson Mariaan Valero 🎙️James Piecowye Ahmed Soudodi Ghaleb Zeidan Judy Bakieh Ricardo Amaral Alaa Badawi Jamal Al Mawed Petra Marie-Louise Boutry Spanko, Thomas Morris Kate Hartley Saad Abu Touq Ben Curson Rachel Maycock Miki Hirasawa Ashton Polly Williams Lynn Al Khatib Rachel Dunn and our fantastic moderator Oscar Wendel - thank you for your brilliant insights, commitment and passion to our cause. A big thank you also to our guests for taking out the time and effort to be with us and to those people who asked questions (at our next conference we’ll have a dedicated mic for Carma). A special shout out to two incredible orators - CARMA’s Mazen Nahawi who amazed us all on how monitoring is changing in the Age of AI and Mark Antony himself in the flesh aka Joe Lipscombe from the aptly named The Romans, who spoke so much sense, it became uncomfortably palpable. Thanks Joe! If I owned TED Conferences I’d tether you guys to the stage. Ka-ching! Last, but certainly not least, a massive thanks to John Rynehart our PRCA Mena Mental Health Steering Committee chair who helped us launch our 2024 Mental Health Report in partnership with YouGov. #PRCAMena #PRCAMenaAnnualConference #PR #Comms #Win
