نبذة عنا
SMEC Marine Solutions provides rapid –reaction service throughout anywhere on a 24x7 basis .SMEC engineers are specialist trained, with extensive knowledge and experience in their fields .skills are continually updated to keep pace with new technology The overall aim of the RETROFIT project is to initiate a new impulse by anticipating on retrofitting as new practice in a ship life cycle, develop a design-for-retrofitting methodology and ship architecture based on modularisation and standardisation principles. For old-designed machines tools it is possible to increase safety, quality and efficiency, and decrease investments by a retrofit operation. It is essential to evaluate the ship life cycle performance and enable the monitoring and managing of the retrofitted ship's overall performance. SMEC caters refit shipyards and ship owners providing compatible replacement equipment in the form of retrofits and upgrades with minimal disruptions to existing.SMEC innovates methods and tools to control ship energy and emission performance: decision support systems for emission control and energy optimization over the entire service profile, monitoring and managing retrofitted technologies performance throughout the remaining life cycle.

SMEC VFD Solution to Reduce CO2 Emissions (Investment cost for VFDs can be recovered within 12 months) SMEC's Energy Monitoring and Management system, along with data logging capabilities, provides logical and reliable solutions for energy monitoring and control. The system employs load-dependent capacity control and Automatic Energy Optimization to conserve energy and minimize audible noise in ventilation systems within engine rooms. Additionally, the use of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) enables precise control of pumps, matching them with actual process requirements, resulting in reduced energy consumption. Installing VFDs to control cooling capacity during less extreme conditions is the most efficient way to lower power consumption. On average, annual savings range from 40% to 60%. Since pumps and fans on vessels are predominantly of the centrifugal type, even a 10% reduction in speed can yield significant power savings of approximately 27%—a concept known as the cube law. This reduction in fuel consumption can result in savings of no less than 1,000 tons of fuel per year. Considering current fuel prices, the investment cost for VFDs can be recovered in a remarkably short period of 12 to 18 months, making it a financially advantageous decision. The cube law for VFDs states that the power consumed by a centrifugal load is roughly proportional to the cube of the motor speed. Mathematically, it can be expressed as: Power ∝ Speed^3. This means that if you reduce the speed of the motor by half (50% of the original speed), the power consumed will decrease to approximately 12.5%. HT & LT (3+2) pump operators can conveniently set the desired outline pressure through our HMI touch screen. Depending on the specified pressure, the pumps will start and the RPM will be controlled accordingly. If the pressure is not sufficient at 70% load during the initial pump operation, the second pump will start at minimum load to support the first pump. If the pressure drops further, the second pump will increase its RPM and share the load, ensuring consistent pressure. In the unlikely event that these two pumps are unable to meet the required demand, the third pump will automatically start to supplement the flow. SMEC Main Engine Bearing Condition Monitoring system SMEC's Bearing Wear Monitoring System plays a crucial role in safeguarding engine operations by measuring and displaying the collective physical wear of the crosshead, crank, and main bearings. It serves as an early warning system, alerting operators to potential bearing seizure issues during engine operation. They possess the unique capability to compensate for various factors, including engine speed, crankcase temperature, and engine deflections resulting from vessel maneuvers or cargo loading. We calculate cross values variation using our program, and our system features auto-calibration for the first 500 hours of engine running. Data is automatically logged and various errors are calculated, with the system adjusting the micro sensing units to realign the values. Our goal is to deliver a retrofit solution that not only maintains but also enhances the reliability and effectiveness of the Bearing Wear Monitoring System, thereby contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of your engine operations. The system is developed by our experts and a team of passionate engineers. We offer many other engine-related solutions, such as live power cards and draw cards to identify cylinder condition monitoring, crankshaft/crosshead condition monitoring, and more.
