I want to thank the SPE Abu Dhabi Section for the opportunity to serve on their “Energizing Tomorrow: Insights on Innovation, Leadership, and Careers in Energy” panel as part of their Future Leaders Arena hosted at ADNOC Group's Research & Innovation Center (ADRIC). Duaa Ibrahim did an incredible job of moderating the session, and I very much enjoyed hearing insights from my fellow panelists Shamma S. Al Shehhi and Rodrigo Castro. It was a lot of fun to interact with all of the students and young professionals who attended and very entertaining to watch the trivia competition. We had the privilege of meeting the visiting Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) Global Board at ADNOC Group headquarters in Abu Dhabi last week. This is the first time the upstream energy industry's leading knowledge-sharing and thought-leadership organization has convened in the UAE. It was a valuable opportunity to explore areas for collaboration across #AI and digital solutions, leveraging SPE's extensive resources and experience to further drive innovation in energy. We took the opportunity to showcase the impressive initial results of our #ENERGYai agentic AI solution and next stage development and deployment plans.

🌟SPE Abu Dhabi Section recently conducted an illuminating SPE Distinguished Lecture by Dr. Erdal Ozkan (Colorado School of Mines) on CO2-EOR and sequestration challenges at the pore scale. With 110 registrations from industry professionals and students, the session provided profound insights into this critical domain of energy transition. Key takeaways: 🔬 The DL delved deep into the microscopic behavior of CO2 in reservoir rocks, highlighting how pore-scale mechanisms significantly impact overall field performance in both EOR and sequestration projects. 🌍 Understanding these fundamental processes is crucial as our industry works to optimize carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives while maintaining efficient hydrocarbon recovery. The lecture demonstrated how cutting-edge research at the pore scale is bridging the gap between what we know already and what we’re still ignoring, for advancing our carbon management strategies.
