🎉 Celebrating ZETA’s Milestones in 2024: Building Momentum As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on an incredible year of achievements and express our gratitude to the ZETA community—our friends, partners, and supporters—for being part of this exciting journey. This year marked ZETA’s official kick-off, laying the foundation for creating markets for clean energy products across the MENA region and beyond, driven by several key milestones: ✨ Key Highlights of 2024 ✅ ZETA Roundtables: We brought together a growing audience of key stakeholders to discuss crucial topics, solidifying ZETA’s role as a thought leader in clean energy markets. Special thanks to contributors of this year: Mohamad El Nahi, Andrew Cullen, Spyros Kouvelis, Michael Stusch, Peter Styles, Frank Wouters, Wouter Vanhoudt, Taimoor Zaman, BSc (Hons), MSc, MBA, Bert den Ouden, Paul van Son and Jan Haizmann. ✅ CBAM Preparation: In collaboration with DLA Piper, and The International Tracking Standard Foundation: Founder of I-REC, we organised CBAM-focused seminars in Türkiye, Egypt, and Morocco together with local stakeholders. Thank you to IRESEN - Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies, Chapter Zero Egypt , Enerji Ticareti Derneği - Energy Traders Association, and Foton Energy.) ✅ Vienna Milestone: Our inaugural event in Vienna brought together early movers in the clean energy space and achieved significant milestones, including: 👉 The announcement of Peter Terium, CEO of ENOWA, as Chairman of the ZETA Advisory Board. Thanks to ENOWA, Frederic Barnaud, SEFE Marketing & Trading Ltd, Colin Crooks, ACT Group, and all involved. 👉 The first meeting of the Standardisation Working Group, co-hosted with DLA Piper, introduced a groundbreaking Sales & Purchase Agreement (SPA) template for renewable hydrogen and ammonia. Special thanks to Andreas Gunst Kenneth Wallace-Mueller 💡 Looking Ahead to 2025 Building on this momentum, ZETA is gearing up for an even more impactful year. With the establishment of two working groups: 👉 The Standardization Group develops essential templates and frameworks such as CBAM-compliant PPAs, hydrogen off-take agreements, carbon trading templates, and more. 👉 The Market Design Group focuses on developing primary and secondary carbon markets through international best practices. With a full agenda of meetings, roundtables, webinars, and publications, we’ll focus on market standardisation, knowledge sharing, and innovative clean energy solutions.
