With the cost of living (42%) and economic issues (41%) as top concerns, voters are clearly feeling the impacts of inflation and economic uncertainty. Housing prices in the EU rose by 48% on average in less than 10 years, creating difficulties for many Europeans. The highest increase was seen in Hungary where prices have risen by more than 170% since 2015. The EU sees tackling this issue as one of its priorities for the coming years. 📢 The European Parliament wants a citizen-centred EU budget. MEPs have agreed their position on the 2025 EU budget, with demands for greater investment in measures to improve people's lives, boost competitiveness and address current challenges, among other key issues. Parliament must now defend its position in negotiations with the Council of the European Union on the final EU budget. Parliament will then vote on the final budget before the end of the year. Around 132 kilos of food is wasted per person in the EU every year. That's equivalent to 660 apples, 132 bags of sugar, or 330 tins of beans in the bin.   On World Food Day, we are focusing on reducing food waste.
