All twenty-six commissioner candidates have been heard by the European Parliament. During the hearings from 4 to 12 November, the members of different Parliament committees questioned the candidates to determine whether they are fit for the role. On Tuesday, MEPs scrutinised vice-presidential candidates that would oversee EU policy in key areas such as cohesion and reform, foreign affairs, skills and preparedness, industrial strategy, the clean transition and tech sovereignty. 📢 The European Parliament wants a citizen-centred EU budget. MEPs have agreed their position on the 2025 EU budget, with demands for greater investment in measures to improve people's lives, boost competitiveness and address current challenges, among other key issues. Parliament must now defend its position in negotiations with the Council of the European Union on the final EU budget. Parliament will then vote on the final budget before the end of the year.
