🧬 Could hidden genetic repeats be a missing piece in #Alzheimers risk? New research suggests that expanded short tandem repeats scattered across the genome may significantly increase the likelihood of developing #AD. Scientists found that having these repeats in more than 30 loci triples the risk, while a specific CASP8 intronic repeat is linked to dipeptide repeat aggregates, doubling the odds.
