𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲! 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲-𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯 We're thrilled to share that the whitepaper from our case study is now live! Using our Perfect Downscale Reactor, we replicated large-scale CHO cell culture effects targeting a 12.000l reactor at the 1L scale. While key control points like viability and cell density remained in range, we uncovered significant variations in product titer and lactate levels—showing typical large-scale effects early in development. This breakthrough allows you to explore large-scale behavior directly in the lab, saving time, costs, and nerves as you scale up. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dJGm9B29 #biotechinnovation #processdevelopment #cellculture #scalingup #downscale #3dprinting

🔍 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲-𝗨𝗽 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 🔍 In our recent case study, we successfully ran the same process parameters and cell line across four vessels (2 control, 2 perfect DownSCale vessels representing mixing behavior of a 12.000l tank), Critical control points (CCPs) like viability and maximum viable cell density as key metrics remained within the expected range, but we observed significant differences in other process outputs, such as product titer and lactate levels, with lactate being more than twice as high—a typical hypoxia byproduct in CHO cell culture. These results align with observations made by Lena Gaugler, Sebastian Hofmann, Michael Schlüter and Ralf Takors in their publication "Mimicking CHO large‐scale effects in the single multicompartment bioreactor: a new approach to access scale‐up behavior." and other publications about CHO. Crucially, standard process control methods may miss these deviations, as CCPs alone do not tell the full story. Our system is designed to plug and play into your current workflows and lab-scale systems, helping you identify and address these scale-up issues much earlier in the development process. By simulating these large-scale effects at small scales, we’re giving you the tools to avoid costly surprises later on. Stay tuned for our upcoming whitepaper, where we’ll dive into the full findings and insights from this case study—just putting on the finishing touches now! #biotech #bioprocess #scaleup #biopharma #innovation #plugandplay

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲? The issue might be simpler than you think—it could all come down to mixing. Large-scale reactors often have poor mixing efficiency, leading to uneven plasmid distribution. This means some cells are overexposed while other areas receive no plasmid at all. 🧬 But how can you predict what’s really happening in your large-scale system and how it affects your final product? With our cutting-edge downscale reactors, you can replicate the exact mixing behavior of large-scale systems right in the lab. Our patented wall structure ensures that mixing dynamics are tailored to your production environment, allowing you to run large-scale processes earlier in development. Predict, optimize, and scale with confidence!
