𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝟰𝗯 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰! Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. In just 12 months, we turned an initial concept supported by Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) into a validated proof of concept and a sellable product. From our first prototype for patent application (pictured on the left) to achieving a major milestone: replicating the behavior of a 10,000L production bioreactor in our CHO cell culture downscale system. This breakthrough is a game-changer for process scaling in biotechnology. Of course, the journey wasn’t without its challenges—overcoming production issues, mastering complex geometries, and identifying the right materials pushed us to our limits. But with determination and innovation, we made it happen. A big shoutout to John Thomas and the team at Dotmatics M-Star CFD! Leveraging their GPU-based simulation tools and Python API was essential. We integrated fluid dynamics and evolutionary AI into our design process, running over 10,000 CFD simulations to build a powerful database for our pipeline. As we move into 2025, we’re eagerly awaiting results from our pilot projects and excited to see how our downscale reactors make an impact. Here’s to more innovation and progress ahead! Thank you to everyone who supported us on this journey. Let’s keep building the future of biotechnology together! 🌟 #BiotechnologyInnovation #ProcessScaling #DownscaleSolutions

🚀 3D Printing Meets Biotechnology – Innovation in Action! 🔬 Our pDS technology is setting new standards for process scaling, and 3D printing plays a key role. To validate mixing times visually, we created reactor inserts from super-clear resin. 💡 It wasn’t easy – the material is brittle, and achieving perfect transparency was a challenge. But the result speaks for itself! 🎥 Check out the video of the glowing blue structure in the UV curing chamber – proof of how innovative 3D printing opens up new frontiers in biotechnology. We’re currently looking for pilot projects to push these innovations further. If your team is ready to explore cutting-edge solutions for process scaling, let’s talk! #Innovation #Biotechnology #3DPrinting #p4b #PerfectDownscale #ScalingSimplified #PilotProjects

Takeda recently hosted its second R&D Science Day in Vienna. In collaboration with LISAvienna, the event connected #startups and academics with Takeda and facilitated the exchange of knowledge on biopharmaceutical process development technologies that are of interest to Takeda. Participants had the opportunity to receive valuable feedback on their solutions. Michael Graninger, Head Biotherapeutics Process Development Europe at Takeda, on the event: “The Takeda R&D Science Day aims to foster an environment of open and direct communication with the local #lifesciences #startup #ecosystem, and we welcome the opportunity to meet regularly with exciting innovators. This year we decided to have a narrower focus on technology solutions for process development, and we were not disappointed. We were excited to see the solutions presented and to engage in a conversation about their scale-up potential.” Manfred Satzer, CEO of p4b, a #labscalecustombioreactor developer, said: “Participating in the Takeda R&D event was a fantastic opportunity to engage with Takeda's process experts, learn more about their challenges and solutions, and explore potential applications—as well as potential challenges—in applying our DownScale reactor system. We deeply value the exchange of insights and ideas fostered during this conversation.” For Saren Tasciyan from #BioPeak who presented his Versa’tchip #labonachip solution, the exchange with Takeda experts brought some unanticipated ideas to the forefront: “This was a unique opportunity to gather feedback on the new versatile lab-on-a-chip technology from a leading pharmaceutical company. Given the broad applicability of this platform technology, identifying the most relevant industry needs can be challenging. However, this in-person meeting revealed some unexpected and promising use cases, which we are eager to explore further.” Finally, Karlheinz Landauer from QBDC GmbH, an #ML / #AI #deeptech company, commented on the quality of the conversation and the commitment of the Takeda team to #sustainability: “It was an exciting and insightful meeting at Takeda during the R&D Science Day. The discussions were scientifically grounded and focused, clearly highlighting our shared interest in innovative solutions. I was particularly impressed by the team's strong commitment to sustainability and their helpful input to our DNA methylation bioprocess, which promises to shorten development timelines and enhance the robustness and quality of pharmaceutical drug manufacturing.” The Takeda R&D group in Austria looks forward to organizing this event again in collaboration with LISAvienna next year, so stay tuned to find out what the topic will be and subscribe to LISAvienna's mailing lists: https://lnkd.in/ga2MV2X Additionally, Denisa Alexandra Lazarescu and Elvira Kainersdorfer, the organizers of the event, will be pleased to share insights into how this type of meeting fosters open innovation.
