💡 The art of splicing - tradition meets modern technology 💡 Did you know that fibre ropes were already being used in the Hallstatt salt mine over 3,500 years ago? 🌟 Made from natural fibres back then, synthetic fibre ropes replaced them around 80 years ago due to better availability and lower costs. Splicing is an essential craft in rope technology: 🔗 A break-proof, durable connection that can be made without the need for a lot of machinery. This involves skilfully interweaving the rope's cords to ensure maximum resilience. 📌 Applicable to almost all rope types - from single to double braids - as well as different splice types: eye splice, long splice, short splice or end/back splice. More capacity: Thanks to the plant expansion, we are now able to produce ropes with even larger diameters of up to 70 mm and weights of up to 140 tonnes. This increases our flexibility and enables customised solutions for demanding ropeway projects. More quality: The use of our new Geometric Laser Detection (GLD) technology ensures automated and high-precision geometry measurement, which further increases the quality and safety of our ropes. The "Donautalbrücke" in Linz in Austria sets new standards in bridge construction and we are proud to be part of this visionary project with our rope technology! 🌉 The decision by those responsible for the project to use our ropes for the world's largest column-free suspension bridge is a strong sign of confidence in the quality and reliability of our products. With 1440 tonnes of full locked coil rope, we are helping to ensure that this impressive structure is safe and sustainable. To fulfil the load requirements, the suspension rope was manufactured as a full locked coil rope with a diameter of 95 mm.
